Hey-o. My name is Joanna and I thank God everyday for what He’s done in my life.

I am also thankful to have you in my little corner.

I have no elevator pitch nor a clue of what to say about myself, so the simplest way of representing who I am is someone small in love with Jesus.

I came to the U.S. when I was four and my family is a little group of Ukrainian-Russians settled here in Boston, MA. I studied Politics, Philosophy, Economics, and English for my undergrad and I have a Master of Arts in English from Boston College, where I am a giddy Writing Professor in the English Department.

I am a wife to the sweetest husband, Egor Rovin, who is the noblest man for putting up with me, and who is also my absolute best friend.

My beloved sisters, Valeriya and Miroslava, are my dearest partners in worship and in life, and we are honored to serve in ministry together at New Generation Church.

I am all about the rain, reading books, and drinking tea — Boston city walks and Cambridge Ramen. Vermont farms and cuddling with my parents’ whippets. Sweater weather. Autumn. The Oxford comma. The Chronicles of Narnia. Chatting with my mentees and examining theology with my dearest mama and papa. My husband has turned me into a coffee aficionado though I am more about the creamer than the beans.

To sum it up, I am passionate about Jesus. He transformed my life from one of rejection, shame, comparison, competition, and sickness to purpose, freedom, love, and healing.

Anyway, I like saying, “I identified myself completely with Him” and I think that embodies this life best.
